Join us Thursday, March 21 for Democracy Dialogues: A Conversation with Richard Stengel at ASU's The Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication. This event is presented by Greater Phoenix Leadership, Flinn Foundation’s Arizona Center for Civic Leadership, Nina Mason Pulliam Charitable Trust and First Place AZ.
We are eager to bring leaders together to share their ideas and perspectives on protecting our democracy and engage in open dialogue as we aim for understanding and a more equitable, just society.

Richard Stengel
Former Under Secretary of State
Journalist, author and passionate advocate for democracy and freedom of speech, Stengel was the Managing Editor of TIME and President/CEO of the National Constitution Center prior to serving in government. In the 1990s, he collaborated with Nelson Mandela on the South African’s bestselling autobiography, “Long Walk to Freedom.”

The Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication (often abbreviated to The Cronkite School by its students and faculty), is one of the 24 independent schools at Arizona State University and is named in honor of veteran broadcast journalist Walter Cronkite. The school, which is located at the downtown Phoenix campus, offers several undergraduate and graduate programs in journalism, and in fall 2011, launched its first doctoral program in journalism and mass communication.
